Introducing Curling to Youth
Curling is more than a game — it’s a powerful way to help students develop leadership, teamwork, focus, and resilience. At the Edmonton Youth Curling Association (EYCA), we believe in making curling accessible and exciting for youth, and we’re here to support your school in bringing this sport to life.
Whether you’re looking for an opportunity for P.E. students to pursue curling beyond the class or want to give students a new way to get involved in sport, EYCA is a partner you can count on.

Why Curling?
Curling is uniquely suited for students of all backgrounds and abilities. It offers:
- Strategic Thinking & Focus – Every shot is a chance to learn decision-making, patience, and precision.
- Teamwork & Leadership – Team-based play that builds social skills and responsibility.
- Inclusivity & Accessibility – Low-impact, non-contact, and great for a wide range of skill levels.
- Belonging & Team Spirit – Curling culture is rooted in sportsmanship, mutual respect, and fun.
- A Lifelong Sport – Many students try curling once and stick with it for life — it’s an engaging and affordable sport they can keep playing in university, adulthood, and beyond.
It’s a game that welcomes everyone — and grows with them!
How To Partner with EYCA

In-Class Connections
EYCA can visit physical education classes to talk about curling during the curling unit.
We’ll explain the sport, share stories from youth participants, and show how students can get involved outside of school.

Dry Curling Setups - No Ice Needed!
We can bring a “dry curling” activity right into your school gym!
Students get hands-on with curling stones (on wheels), simulate shots, and experience the strategy and teamwork the sport is known for.

School Events & Info Nights
Hosting a student engagement fair, activity expo, or sport night?
EYCA is happy to provide an info booth, curling games, and take-home materials for parents and students.
