About EYCA

Building Skills. Creating Community. Inspiring the Next Generation.

Supporting the Next Generation

The Edmonton Youth Curling Association (EYCA) is a non-profit dedicated to helping young people discover curling in a way that’s welcoming, fun, and empowering. We offer inclusive, accessible programs for youth ages 12 to 17, designed to teach not just the fundamentals of the sport, but teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.

Whether you’re brand new to curling or looking to develop your game, EYCA is here to support your journey both on and off the ice.

What We Believe

Our values guide everything we do—on the ice, in the community, and beyond

Inclusion – Everyone is welcome, no matter your experience or background.
Growth – Curling builds skills for life, from focus and resilience to communication and sportsmanship.
Community – We thrive on teamwork, belonging, and mutual respect.
Excellence – We aim high, encouraging every player to do their best and support others.
Fun – Because curling should be as enjoyable as it is rewarding!

Our Mission

To foster a love of curling in youth by providing inclusive, accessible and developmentally appropriate programs that build skills, leadership, strategy and community.

Our Vision

Empowering the next generation of curlers through mentorship, opportunity, and fun.

Why Curling?

Curling is one of the most accessible and inclusive sports around. It promotes physical activity, strategic thinking, and positive peer interaction—all in a safe and supportive environment. EYCA’s programs help youth:

  • Develop athletic and social skills
  • Gain confidence and leadership abilities
  • Make new friends and build community
  • Enjoy competitive or recreational play at their own pace

More Than a Sport

At EYCA, curling is a vehicle for growth. It’s where young people learn to work together, overcome challenges, and celebrate their progress—both individually and as a team. Our coaches and volunteers are here to mentor and uplift every young curler, no matter where they start.
